Seven Days Personals - Introducing: Vermonters

Hello. I am retired from being a guidance counselor, and loving the chance to explore my interests, live at a more leisurely pace, and having time for outdoor activities and friends. I spend my time swimming daily, doing volunteer work, weaving, hanging out with my grandkids who live in Burlington, reading, paying attention to world events, cooking, watching film, going to museums, sailing, and spending time with friends.
I am an open, warm, loving person and I think of myself as a good communicator. Being a good listener is something I value and I am not afraid to express what I feel and think. I believe a healthy relationship is a reciprocal dance between two people, where each one can develop their own interests as well as compliment each other. I am not looking for someone to make me feel okay about myself, but an equal partner who appreciates give and take.
I have a curious nature and appreciate the blessings I have in my life. Family is very important to me. I have two beautiful daughters who are independent, happy, individuals. Politically, I am left leaning and care deeply about the environment and world peace. I love the lake and enjoy boating, sailing, watching the sunset, and walking on the beach. I like to travel, enjoy good food, take a road trip, and explore the country. The ocean is a favorite spot and I love going to Maine or the Jersey shore;.
My spiritual life is important to me; I belong to a meditation group and am exploring the teaching of the Buddha. I find that the readings and discussion help me lead a more satisfying life. No need to be interested in Buddhism, but a sense that life is both rewarding and challenging, without a clinging to either, seems to lessen suffering.
I am sounding too serious; I have a great sense of humor, people often laugh at my comments, and a have a zest for life. I can be spontaneous and appreciate what each day brings. If I sound interesting, I would love to hear from you.
