Seven Days Personals - Introducing: Vermonters

The greeter at The Skinny Pancake, on my first visit to Burlington a few weeks ago, introduced me to Seven Days and I loved it. Burlington is the town I should have discovered long ago. But now I am nearby enough to visit regularly and the train helps! I love to travel by train, with an occasional ocean liner for variety. I am a native of the midwest, but lived in eight states and ten locations and overseas. I am an expert at nothing but writing about what other people do. I am a retired cat-lady with one son who lives in NYC. THIS is so I don't lean on him for company too much while he is busy getting on with his pursuits. I offer endless stories about life in the trenches of newsgathering when we used copy pencils, typewriters, and ran for pay phones. I am fairly well-read and well-traveled and can jump in any conversation whether I know anything about the topic or not. I was a daily lap swimmer for 30 years, but now I just walk. I try to eat organic and unprocessed foods. Weaknesses are chocolate and ice cream but can resist the ones filled with artificial ingredients and chemicals. I am hoping to hear from someone, male or female, who is absent a significant other and who would like to have more companionship, perhaps leading to strong friendship. I am a straight female, but I think the love boat has sailed. I tend to choose tough subjects over trivia. I am a member of the ACLU, Americans United for Separation of Church and State, and the Freedom From Religion Foundation. I love train trips, theatre (especially up in Canada), non-fiction narratives, history, classic movies, and art. The Star Trek Original Set Tour is on my to-do list.
