Onward, with joy

Looking for a common sense connection that involves possibility, humility, humor, live music, maybe some camping but surely some bonfires, cooking together and chasing a good restaurant or theme, working on grandma’s recipes (for kale soup, or moonshine), enjoying Vermont. Theatre. Camping. Gardening. Whatever is the closest thing to a Dead show these days (JRAD?). Trying to down shift a little (meaning not 12 hour days) and enjoying this winter.
Would like to work on getting back to cooking more and finding a friend to work on wellness and growing old with a bang, not a whimper. Not a bucket list kind of person but I have a few things that would be cool.
I like a lot of different things and am grateful for that. I find joy in big picture pursuits as well as the minutiae of the same event seen through a different lens, or the same lens backwards.
I like good local food, mainly cooking it here, but sometimes sharing on the joy of a good restaurant. I appreciate people and food.
I like the sound of birds in my woods and rain on my roof, in season, but am partial to a good old fashioned blizzard as well.
I like dogs but don’t have the time for one just yet, maybe you have one?
I like work, but I also like sleeping in on my first day off, to even up the sleep score.
I like to learn how I’m wrong about some stuff I used to think, and right about some stuff too. I like growth.
I like uncomfortable silences. Followed by an obscure movie, song or pop culture quote to bring it all into perspective.
I like flyfishing because its easier to let the fish go and have them live.
I like hiking but live in the deep woods. I like camping, especially for a concert, show or event, but also in the backcountry midweek. I enjoy creature comforts too.

I’d hoped to go to the Sphere this year, rest in peace Bobby.
Heck, Jerry just about has the band back together. Last song I heard Bob Weir play was Werewolves of London. What a hoot. 30’000 people in the audience singing ‘Awoooo’.

I’d like to meet someone chill. Comfortable in your own skin and aware of the growth and mistakes that got us here. Someone who can laugh at it all while being a little concerned at the same time. Someone that, like the song says, is at home in the wild, with the heart of a wandering child, ready to build a world.

Sending good vibes. Onward through the fog.

Deeper

People always tell me I'm... A good cook, BS free, and a deep thinker. Should do stand up comedy.

Three things that I want from my ideal mate are... Honesty, resiliency, got each other’s back

Might as well face it, I'm addicted to... connecting the dots, and coloring outside the lines.

What is the one thing that you love that everybody else hates? I’m glad I don’t know what everybody else hates. But kefir and pickled onions may qualify. Not at the same time. But maybe. Fuck hate.

I would describe my fashion sense as... Carharts and a polo at work. A coat and tie or suit when needed. Earth tones on the river, except totally naked for skinny dipping, of course. Then attention getting and sometimes inappropriate t-shirts as needed.

Fill It

On a Saturday night you will most likely find me book in hand, live music, gardening, camping, it really depends on the season but hopefully finding joy in the moment

I consider myself an open-minded person, but my deal breakers are entitlement and lack of empathy & compassion

I couldn't live without Maslow’s hierarchy and 3 incomes.

The first section I turn to in Seven Days is the Irish Sports Page

My ideal partner would be in the younger to older age range.

The quickest way to my heart is being real The quickest way to my bed is being realer And in the morning, I like my eggs cooked I’ll cook them any way you like
