Seven Days Personals - Introducing: Vermonters

I’m an outdoorsy, well-educated guy seeking a female companion with a thirst to live life to its fullest. I’m attracted to smart women who are passionate about their work and social causes and want to make this crazy world a better place. My parents raised my sister and me to stand up for people who need help, to do what’s right, and to tell the truth. I still live by those principles today.

I also hope you have a mischievous streak that will keep our friendship spicy and playful. I don't want to be the only one who comes up with fun things to do or try together, indoors or out, or places to go. Shared experiences are the glue that makes a relationship rich and durable. I thirst to have adventures with you and make memories that we can build on.

I’m interested in a long-term relationship if things work out between us. But first things first, let’s get to know one another and see how things unfold. I’ve found that emotional and physical intimacy take time; they require clear communication, trust, and partnership in all things. Self-awareness and being able to verbalize your emotions are key, especially as our relationship deepens. I want a partner who is willing to be vulnerable and with whom I feel safe being vulnerable.

As a lifelong learner, I’m constantly trying new things, and hope you enjoy that too. I’ve read a lot of books in my life and plan to read a lot more. I like mysteries, science, and biographies.
I’ve been doing Pilates for three years and have a reformer at home. I used to play the fiddle, and I’m thinking about learning a new instrument. I like contra dancing. I read a lot and enjoy cooking my meals at home, especially for someone special. I’m a great listener and best friend. There’s a lot more, but you’ll have to ask me questions to find out more.

I’ve owned my own business for the past 20 years, and I’m winding it down now to retire. It was focused on hiking and backpacking: I’ve guided professionally, written thousands of articles about it, and published a book. I still teach classes and volunteer with trail organizations. Going forward, it will still be part of my life, but it will take a back seat while I grow new roots, including exploring the Adirondacks by canoe.

Previously, I've had a few different careers including software engineering, management consulting, and executive management, mostly in the internet and software startup space. I have an incredible desire to learn and try new things, and my past jobs and schooling let me drink it all in from a firehose.

I haven’t watched TV in decades, although I like to stream movies or shows with someone special. I don’t follow commercial sports. I love dogs, but I’m allergic to cats. I’m not religious. I don’t smoke. I don’t drink much but enjoy good wine and beer. I’m an omnivore but mostly eat vegetarian. I’m not into recreational drugs, but I’m not against them. I read the NY Times daily and usually cook two NY Times recipes every week. There’s much more.

I'm socially and politically liberal. If you like Trump and MAGA, we're not going to get along.
