Seven Days Personals - Introducing: Vermonters

I’m a 75 year old, active Chittenden County man who makes his bed every morning, keeps a neat, tidy house I own debt free, who wrote this statement without assistance from AI. (Though I likely should have.) Remarkably, in only five years middle-late last century I completed my undergraduate degree. Unremarkably, I didn’t complete my graduate degree but most importantly met the woman in graduate school who would be my wife for 50 years, 2 months and 23 days. We lived happily ever after until November last year when I became a widower.
I recently returned from a solo road trip to the Chautauqua Institute to attend a thoroughly enjoyable Renee Fleming and Bella Fleck performance of The Fiddle and the Drum after learning of their collaboration from watching a Tiny Desk performance - reading news on NPR a daily habit of mine. Along the way I walked around the town where I was staying at the YWCA, ate good food at locally owned restaurants and diners, visited my son and family in New York, played golf, and sort of sang along to a bunch of oldies in the car. Earlier this summer I made two road trips to Canada for golf with friends, stopping off in Maine to visit more family. This fall I’ll drive to South Carolina for the winter.
I learned something important about myself while traveling solo this summer: I miss amiable female companionship. If you’ve learned something similar about yourself and realize you miss amiable male companionship we likely have something to talk about.
