Life shaped by Labyrinth

NB, queer, kinky, shy author and historian seeks friends, fellow artists, and/or sex partners of all genders. Capture my attention by knowing how to truly converse and listen.

Let's make silly puns, talk about our creative work, and bike around Burlington.

If you want to hear about my imaginary, magical Vermont town of Hardship, the historical queers I keep finding, or Jareth as role model, hit me up.

In other adjectives, I'm a recently reactivated Unitarian Universalist looking for people to share simple delights with, whether it's savoring the season's first maple creemee, saying hi to a kidsy on the bus, jumping in fall leaves to make them crunch, or watching the sun reflect off Lake Champlain. Okay, sure, I can enjoy all those bike rides and farmer's markets and Vermont Stage productions and Fleming Museum exhibits and local history talks and cemetery tours by myself, but I'd much rather share them with others.

I have three major creative pursuits: fiction, dolls, and history. Fiction, largely set in Hardship, Vermont, explores the magical history of a queer little town.

My dolls [12" articulated figures that I sculpt heads for, customize, make sets and stories for, and photograph] often represent my story characters.

As for history, I like to go deep into untold stories, like that of the impoverished single mother in Williston in 1840 whose baby was sold for $100 without her input or the trans guy in southern Vermont who transitioned from feminine to masculine four times between 1901 and 1910 before he succeeded. That history informs my fiction.

As the headline suggests, I have some romantic and fantastical tendencies and a great belief in the power of the imagination [especially when personified by ambiguous and allusive figures in suggestive clothes].

Deeper

People always tell me I'm... weird, a walking thesaurus, idiosyncratically fashionable, funny, good at reading aloud, shamelessly dancing in public, "Whoa, you made that?!" [upon seeing dolls that I have sculpted or customized]

Might as well face it, I'm addicted to... Medjool dates, clementines, CharactersWelcome channel on Youtube, making miniature books and magazines with punny titles and authors

What is the one thing that you love that everybody else hates? public transit

It's karaoke night and I'm singing... David Bowie, Rolling Stones, songs of the '80s I grew up hearing on the radio ["Calling Gloriaaaaaa!"], a novelty song I heard on Youtube that I can't get out of my head

I would describe my fashion sense as... impatient, comfy drag queen meets thrift store

Fill It

On a Saturday night you will most likely find me writing a short story about my imaginary small town in Vermont or researching overlooked lives of local history

I couldn't live without psychotropic medication, skim milk, and etymology

The first section I turn to in Seven Days is WTF?

The quickest way to my heart is creative and/or activist passion The quickest way to my bed is clear, explicit communication and enthusiastic consent And in the morning, I like my eggs cooked poached or scrambled

My ideal partner would be in the 40 to 60 age range.
