You drove by in the passenger seat of the Green Mountain Power Truck. I was sitting on my front steps and saw you and couldn’t look away. I said something stupid, hopefully you couldn’t hear me. I found it unsettling to be exposed to such petty behavior with a nasty voicemail. You used to frown upon the likes of people for whom those things did choose.
I have told you many a time over, I wish you no ill will. Even though, fairly I presume, I could have turned bitter and righteous and followed through with legalities.
I only want you to be happy and have found it hard to believe we will ever completely lose connection in any of the tiniest, rarest forms in this lifetime. But, alas, if you let her be the master of your decisions… so be it.
